Unlike many W properties, the W Aspen + Sky Residences is relatively muted in its aesthetic composition, allowing the picturesque location to fill in the blanks where dynamic, eye-catching design would only distract from nature’s masterpiece. That said, the location’s muted tones gird a framework that is thoroughly modern and quintessentially W, offering visitors a host of amenities in an amazing location and residents a mountainside paradise to call home. One theme exhibited throughout the W Aspen is the design team’s active homage to Colorado’s silver mining heritage.
Whether it is in a silver-tone accent, canary sculpture, or more direct with mining-related accessories and refurbished equipment, the hotel’s unique blend of pioneer rudiments with sleek styling concepts makes it anything if not unique. In one instance, a wood-burning stove is repurposed as a bar. While the hotel boasts its ski-in, ski-out accessibility, there is also a conscious effort to make the location a destination all year long thus mitigating some of the seasonality that can come with Aspen ski residences.
As with most W locations, the lounge sets the tone for the experience yet to unfold with warm wood and earth tones as well as functional 3D art pieces that add more than a touch of sleek modernity to the ambiance. There are 11 luxury residences on offer, each with its own unique styling and them though tied in and coherent with the larger decor schematic of the property itself. The Wet Deck, home to the W Aspen + Sky Residences pool, features lounge areas, fire pits, and a cocktail bar, making it the social heart of the hotel.
Situated for maximum convenience, the residences have easy access to the hotel pool as well as an exclusive Owners Deck on the roof. Residents also have a fleet of hotel amenities at their disposal such as a private chef for a catered event. Throughout the property, but particularly at the Owners Deck and hotel pool, residents and guests are treated to immaculate views of the Colorado Mountains.
