The World of Aspen

The World of Aspen

Aspen epitomizes the phrase “winter wonderland.” Some of the most luxurious ski resorts on the planet are nestled high in Aspen’s peaks, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, coated in glorious snowy powder. Whether you love skiing or you simply enjoy the quaint novelty of a winter getaway, this promises to be an unforgettable experience. But while Aspen is certainly unique, it poses the same challenges as virtually any other vacation destination. And chief among these challenges is finding a place to stay.

Here are some of the most luxurious accommodation options in all of Aspen:

The Little Nell

The Little Nell has a reputation for being one of the most luxurious and expensive accommodation options in Aspen. While the smaller guest rooms are quite… cozy… at just 450 square feet, you can expect a much more comfortable experience when you opt for some of the more extensive options. The hotel’s largest apartments span 4,000 square feet of living space, and they come equipped with some incredible features.

Floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning views of the winter paradise in the distance, including Aspen’s characteristic gondolas. Custom furnishings and fine art ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere when you’re finished on the ski slopes. A private, furnished deck provides you with constant access to the great outdoors – perfect for a toasty foray into the falling snow with a cup of cacao in hand. The residence also boasts a gourmet kitchen, and a private chef is on call at all times if you’d like to eat in.

The St. Regis

The St. Regis is an obvious choice if you want to ski as much as possible during your trip to Aspen. The hotel is conveniently located steps away from the slopes, allowing you to step almost directly onto a ski lift from the front door. It is a favorite among wine connoisseurs, culture aficionados, and anyone who appreciates breathtaking views of the mountains.

The presidential suite offers a great deal for those with cultured and refined tastes. It boasts a private balcony on the hotel’s highest floor, allowing you to gaze upon the mountains and the Fountain Courtyard with unparalleled privacy. With 19th-century decor and custom furnishings, the presidential suite at the St. Regis offers touching details such as a baby grand piano and a marble fireplace. The master bathroom is also decorated with beautiful marble. A butler is on call at all times and will be at your side within moments thanks to a private elevator.

The Aspen Meadows Resort

Another stellar option is the Aspen Meadows Resort. This is a more secluded choice for those who want to escape the crowds, and it lies on 40 gorgeous acres nestled in the mountains. The decidedly modern hotel spans 22,000 square feet and houses the world-famous Aspen Institute. Expect a clean, modern, and minimalist room. While it might not offer the same kind of “in-your-face” luxury as the previous two hotels, there’s still plenty to appreciate here, including a private balcony and a wet bar. The hotel itself was designed by famed Bauhaus architect Herbert Bayer, and his own artwork is proudly displayed throughout the hotel. There are two separate art galleries inside the hotel, as well as five tennis courts.
