Annual Food & Wine Festival to Light Up Culver City in July

Annual Food & Wine Festival to Light Up Culver City in July

Only a few decades ago, Culver City had become known as one of the forgotten corners of Los Angeles, lacking in both culture and excitement. However, after a revolutionary renovation program in the 1990s that revitalized and diversified the area, the neighborhood bounced back stronger than ever. Now through the opening of shopping centers, art galleries, and restaurants, it is renowned for its cultivation of great local food, arts, and culture. One way the neighborhood celebrates this new era of stylishness and artistry is through the annual Food and Wine Festival held at the Courtyard by Marriot Los Angeles Westside that you can attend yourself on July 21st for $44 per adult ticket.

Held at the same location as last year’s event out of its resounding success, and being the third annual food and drink festival in Culver City, by joining the celebrations you will be welcomed by an array of live music, food, wine, beer, and spirit vendors both indoors and outdoors.

Experience some of the finest culinary and beverage creations available in Southern California with over 25 different options to satisfy even the fussiest of visitors. Through a range of cuisines from businesses both local and from further afield, try samples from an exciting range of businesses and find some new favourites among the mix.

Expect entertainment ranging from live music, DJs, magic shows, and a silent auction to entertain you while you eat. All proceeds raised from the silent auction will be donated to the Marvin Elliot Medical Fund on behalf of the father of the organizer of the event who has been treated there for many months. Don’t worry about finding a babysitter for the kids either, as children are more than welcome at the event. Moreover, with there being heaps of family-friendly fun for the smaller among us, your kids will be too occupied with enjoying arts and crafts, games and a fun photo booth to nag you about going home. With each paying adult, one child aged 9 or younger will also be provided a free ticket so rest assured that the day won’t break the bank either.

By visiting the festival, not only are you contributing to local businesses and helping the area flourish, but a percentage of the profits made from the day will also benefit the Westside Food Bank. Their mission is to provide access to free, nutritional meals within the community for those in need who often are left with unhealthy meals out of necessity. By providing 108,000 people each year, nearly half of whom are children, nutritional staples such as fresh produce and high protein food, they aid the general health and well-being of the people who need it most, a cause that the organizers of the event passionately champion.

If for whatever reason, you are unable to attend the festival this July and are kicking yourself for having missed out, attend the same festival this fall in October and get excited for another wonderful day out for all the family.
